On Sunday, September 22, Chinatown’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden will celebrate the annual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with festivities and activities for all ages.
The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival (second only to Chinese New Year) is one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar. It is a festival that traditionally brings families and friends together to honour the full Harvest Moon, share stories, play games and eat delicious moon cakes!
The Garden’s “Festival of Reunion” includes Chinese games, storytelling, live music, fortune telling, kids’ crafts and, of course, a mooncake sample and hot tea. Bring a copy of a photograph or artifact along with a story or tradition from your own family’s Mid-Autumn Moon reunion for our Story Board.
Each family has its own traditions and it will be fun to share.
This will be the 20th year that Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is celebrating the Mid-autumn Moon Festival with by-donation admission offer.
Sunday, September 22, 2013 @ 10:00AM - 4:00PM
Admission by donation.
