Stanley Park is known for its spectacular gardens, which remain in bloom year-round. The Ted and Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden includes a collection of approximately 4,500 hybrid rhododendron and azalea plants. The peak bloom time for most of these plants is during the first two weeks of May (though some bloom later, in July and August), making it a wonderful garden to explore from March until September.
Stanley Park's Rose Garden, developed in 1920, is alive with 3,500 vibrantly coloured and beautifully scented rose plants, as well as numerous floral display beds of perennials, annuals and bulbs. This garden sits right next to the Stanley Park Pavilion. There are also numerous other vibrant flower displays surrounding the historic pavilion.
Colourful displays also surround the Vancouver Parks Board administrative offices. There are pretty much gardens everywhere you turn throughout the park. Just think of Stanley Park as a big garden on the right in the heart of Vancouver.
