Best Bite Awards

Tourism Vancouver’s 2012 Dine Out Vancouver Festival was the most successful to date, with local and visiting foodies flocking to 232 participating restaurants around the city and enjoying a feast of prix fixe menus, daily culinary events and special hotel rates.

Throughout the 17 days of the festival, diners were encouraged to take part in the Best Bite Awards by voting for their favourite Dine Out experiences. More than 1,200 votes were cast, and Tourism Vancouver is pleased to announce the winners:

Best $18 menu: Bistro 101 at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts
Best $28 menu: Bistro Pastis
Best $38 menu: Federico’s Supper Club

Best BC VQA wine pairing: Fraîche Restaurant
Best Kronenbourg 1664 beer pairing: Baru Latino
Best service: West Restaurant
Best experience: Federico’s Supper Club

Diner’s choice: Fraîche Restaurant
Restaurant server award: David Lew from Yew Restaurant

Dine Out for a Year Contest

All diners who cast nominations were entered into the Dine Out for a Year contest, which featured a grand prize of 52 gift certificates to restaurants around the city. This year’s lucky winner was local student and food enthusiast Ryan Armstrong, who couldn’t have been more thrilled. "This is the first year I became aware of, and participated in, Dine Out Vancouver," he said. "I love food, and I can’t wait to experience all that these restaurants have to offer."
