REV YOUR APPETITES: DINE OUT VANCOUVER FESTIVAL STARTS TOMORROW

Vancouver, BC: Reservations have been made, hotel rooms booked, and locals and visitors alike are getting ready to blow off their resolutions. That's right: Tourism Vancouver's annual Dine Out Vancouver Festival kicks off tomorrow for a full 17 days of three-course meals, carefully curated wine and beer pairings, and a collection of events guaranteed to boost the city's culinary cred.

Starting with Plated and Paired at the Public Market, the festival's signature launch event, Dine Out continues with prix fixe dinners at 240 restaurants, more than 35 unique events, and special rates and packages available at hotels around the city. Consumers entering late in the game are encouraged to log on to dineoutvancouver.com and snap up reservations for restaurants, events and hotel stays before their top picks are sold out.

Dine Out Vancouver Festival is all about connecting over culinary experiences, and this year's roster of events is ripe with savoury suggestions. Particularly juicy picks include:

  • Street Food City II. A reprisal of last year's wildly popular event presented by the Street Food Vancouver Society and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, this year's five-day incarnation is bigger and longer than last year with 14 of Vancouver's top food carts uniting over the weekend at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
  • Hawskworth & Holt Renfrew. An intimate evening at Holt Renfrew's designer boutiques featuring a champagne cocktail reception, an introduction to the spring 2013 designer collections, and dinner and dessert by Hawksworth Restaurant.
  • The Grape Debate. A wine-focused debate among industry leaders followed by tastings of more than 20 B.C. wines.
  • Edible Canada's Speaker Series. Experiential tutorials by local experts that guide participants through the worlds of caviar, sake, chocolate, coffee and more, with delectable tastings along the way.

"I'm thrilled at the overwhelming response that Dine Out has been receiving - and all before the festival has even started," said Tourism Vancouver's Lucas Pavan, festival coordinator. "Restaurant reservations are filling up fast, many events are already sold out and hotel room bookings are strong. Vancouver is a foodie city at heart, and at no time of year is this more apparent than during Dine Out season."

Consumers can view the full list of participating restaurants and their menus, along with event details and hotel packages, at dineoutvancouver.com. Most reservations can be made directly through the website.
