Local chefs are cooking up mouthwatering menus, organizers are crafting out-of-the-box culinary events, and hotels are serving up special room rates and packages. Yes, it's that time again: Tourism Vancouver's Dine Out Vancouver Festival - Canada's largest food and drink festival - returns for its 13th anniversary, January 16 to February 1.

Here's a look at what's cooking:

Festival dates: January 16 to February 1, 2015

Events: Festival-goers can choose from 17 days of flash-in-the-pan events that will appeal to even the most discerning foodies. Returning this year are old favourites like Street Food City (a lunchtime gathering of the city's popular food carts, now extended to a full week); The Grape Debate (a wine-centric debate where top industry experts spar with facts and humour); Six Course Discourse (a rapid-fire presentation by some of the city's top chefs along with food and wine tastings); Brunch Crawl (a series of tasting tours showcasing Vancouver's brunch hotspots, each taking place in a different neighbourhood); and Dinner at the Birdcage
(a drag show with dinner in a swank cabaret space). Exciting new additions are
still simmering in the kitchen - stay tuned! Event tickets go on sale December
1, 2014.

Hotels: More than 20 Vancouver hotels will offer rooms priced at $78, $108 and $138 per
night, plus a number of swoon-worthy "Dine and Stay" packages. Hotels
offers go on sale December 1, 2014.

Menus: Whether diners want to experience Vancouver's newest eateries,
old favourites or array of multicultural offerings, Dine Out is the
perfect time to savour the city's world-renowned food scene.  During the
festival, diners can sample three-course, prix fixe menus at more than 230
restaurants throughout the city at $18, $28 and $38 price points (BC VQA wine
pairings available at an additional cost). Restaurant menus will be revealed
and reservations open on January 7, 2015.

partner); Metro newspaper, Vancouver magazine, Where magazine, Western Living magazine and OpenTable (media partners); and Air Canada (official airline).
