Tourism Vancouver is seeking a Manager, Meeting and Convention Sales, Chicago and Midwest, USA. The primary responsibility is to generate qualified leads and convert them to definite business. This is done by researching, identifying, developing and targeting association convention business, corporate meetings, incentive programs and all related group business travel opportunities for the city of Vancouver and Tourism Vancouver member companies and partners.
The Manager will report to and work very closely with the Regional Director of Sales - Washington, DC and the Vice President of Meeting and Convention Sales in order to achieve specified goals. The position will share a Sales Associate support position with another Manager based in the Vancouver office.
Building strong strategic relationships with clients, members and partners and delivering a high level of customer service and sales will be key to the success of this position.
The Manager will provide leadership in the formulation of the overall meeting and convention component of the annual Sales and Marketing Business Plan as well as its implementation in the Chicago and Midwest market and territory.
The successful candidate must have extensive experience working in destination marketing and must be able to implement meetings and convention sales strategies through specific market driven sales tactics and activities.
