Tourism Vancouver is currently seeking an Executive Assistant for the President & CEO.
Reporting to the President & CEO, this position is responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative and strategic support for the organization. The individual will have strong organization, time management, communication, and administrative skills as well as works effectively in an active and diverse environment. The position also supports and works closely with all of the Senior Management team. The individual acts with discretion and confidentiality and the highest level of integrity at all times.
The successful candidate will bring a minimum 8 – 10 years of experience in a similar role reporting to a senior executive; possess excellent interpersonal skills; sound judgment in decision making; takes initiative and is able to take direction effectively; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated organizational skills; attend to detail; ability to prioritize tasks and the ability to multi-task.
Experience with a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors is an asset as well as experience in working with Boards governance issues of Directors. Strong knowledge of general office procedures including procurement, travel arrangements, budget management and developing and analyzing reports and knowledge of the political processes and/or working experience within a political working environment is preferable.
A thorough understanding of the travel, tourism and convention industry, and the mandate of destination marketing and management organizations will be significant assets. Knowledge of Vancouver is an advantage, but not required. Passion for Vancouver as a destination is a must.
